Synopsis
She’s done slaying monsters. She’s ready to serve coffee.
After decades of adventuring, Viv the orc barbarian is finally hanging up her sword for good. Now she sets her sights on a new dream – for she plans to open the first coffee shop in the city of Thune. Even though no one there knows what coffee actually is.
If Viv wants to put the past behind her, she can’t go it alone. Help might arrive from unexpected quarters – yet rivals old and new stand in the way of success. And Thune’s shady underbelly could make it all too easy for Viv to take up the blade once more.
But the true reward of the uncharted path is the travellers you meet along the way. Whether bound by ancient magic, delicious pastries or a freshly brewed cup, they may become something deeper than Viv could ever have imagined.
Legends & Lattes is a cosy, heartwarming story of found family, fresh starts – and the perfect cup of coffee.
Review
Legends and Lattes definitely lives up to the expectations of coziness vibes. This book will make you crave a cup of coffee and a cinnamon roll.
I don’t even like coffee that much and I still wanted coffee. So if you are going to read this book, make sure you have a cup of coffee on hand.
I found it super satisfying and comforting to read about Viv and her friends as they were building her coffee shop and slowly starting her business. It made me motivated to get work done.
Although the characters were good and the found family was sweet, I didn’t really connect with the characters too much. I was more there for the vibes.
I had a hard time visualizing the characters other than Viv and Tandri. Most of them weren’t human and it was hard keeping track of what each character was.
The plot was good but it was not my main focus of the story. It made more sense to me once I had finished the whole book. I liked the overall message of the book. Sometimes you need a storm to clear a path for you.
Overall this book was a short and enjoyable read. Nothing about it stood out to me but I would still recommend you read it. You may end up liking it more than I did. Plus, it is the perfect read for a rainy, fall day.
