Every bookworm out there knows that it is close to impossible to pick a favorite book. I’ve read too many amazing books to decide so I’ve picked out a few of my favorite books instead. In no particular order, here are 10 of my all-time favorite book series.
1. The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare
The Infernal Devices is a trilogy by Cassandra Clare that I think about almost every single day since I first read it in 2020. The characters are for sure the best part of this series. The author wrote them so well they feel tangible. You will not want to put any of these 3 books down.
2. The Unwanteds by Lisa McMann
This book series is a childhood favorite of mine that I will continue to reread many times. It’s filled with magic, creativity, and amazing characters. To live in Artimé would be a dream come true. They live in a magical mansion that is forever expanding with rooms fit to your exact personality and needs. The rooms change as you grow as well. Of course the mansion is only a small part of the world so read this series to find out more about the land of Artimé.
3. Keeper of The Lost Cities by Shannon Messenger
Keeper of the Lost Cities is a more recent read that I immediately fell in love with. This book truly transported me into a different world. If you love fantasy books then you have to read this. Plus, life is much better when you know who Keefe Sencen is. I promise he will not fail to make you laugh. You will also definitely be wishing you could eat some mallowmelt after reading the first book.
4. Under the Whispering Door by TJ Klune
Who needs therapy when you can read books instead? This book was so good. I absolutely loved Hugo and all of his insightful thoughts. The tea house gave such cozy vibes. This book was so comforting it felt like a therapy session. Also, this is a standalone book but I had to include it because it was too amazing not to mention.
5. Nevermoor by Jessica Townsend
The Nevermoor series by Jessica Townsend is literally so amazing! I would love to live in this world beside Jupiter North and Morrigan Crow. It has a wonderful found family trope and is overflowing with magic. If you liked Keeper of the Lost Cities then you should definitely try this series out.
6. Heartstopper by Alice Oseman
If you want to feel safe and like you belong then read this graphic novel series. Since they are graphic novels, it is super easy to read in one sitting and get fully immersed into the world and characters. The author does a beautiful job of writing about what it’s like figuring out your sexuality. Regardless of what you identify as these books will make you feel loved.
7. The Legendborn Cycle by Tracy Deonn
I could not be more in love with this series. These books will be giving you a book-hangover. I was genuinely so sad to have finished these books and wanted to reread them right away. I have no words to describe it. Just read it. Check out my review on Legendborn to hear more on my thoughts.
8. Simon Snow Trilogy by Rainbow Rowell
A few words to describe this book: magical and very fast paced with slow-burn enemies to lovers. I was shocked in a good way with this book. Technically I have not read this whole series yet, but with how much I loved the first book, it’s going on my list of favorites already. If you want to read a book with LGBTQ+ main characters and lots of magic then you should read this book.
9. Shadow and Bone Trilogy by Leigh Bardugo
I was pleasantly surprised by this series. Most people end up liking Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo better than this series, but I was the opposite. I will say, if you read this series and didn’t vibe with it much, then check out Six of Crows if you haven’t already. I loved the concept of Alina, the main character, finding out she has this power that is supposed to change the world. Of course it involves some sort of magic school which I also love. The fact that it now has a great Netflix show makes it even better.
10. The last Hours by Cassandra Clare
I started out my list with Cassandra Clare and I’m ending with Cassandra Clare. I love all of her books so I think it’s fitting. I had to wait 2 years for the last book to come out in this series and it was agony after the ending of the second book. These books will make you cry, they will make you laugh, and they will make you want to throw your book across the room all at the same time. Cordelia is an amazing character but the best part is getting more Herondale content. If you loved the other shadowhunter books, do not skip this series.
Talking about my favorite books made me want to reread all of them right now. I hope I inspired you to try out any or all of these books if you have not read them already.
